Noted. I actually did some more calculations and changed my post a bit. In addition most of the information that I have posted here in these calculations are not mine but come from energy consortiums who are tasked with working up these numbers and presenting them for policy considerations.

Wow – I just found your blog through back linking – Great Stuff!!!!! – I will add you to my blogroll. I find your criticisms of our energy policy and of the energy industry to be illuminating. While bad government deserves much of the blame for our current mess, it is the combination of big government with big business that often makes things even worse.

Hi, Welcome to the blogsphere.

You might want to check your numbers. Watts is like a measure of capacity, watt/hours a measure of production or use. Not quite the same thing, and can be quite confusing. That’s how you get to “20x times our current capacity” where the use would actually be only adding 1/3rd or less. That capacity exists if taken overnight when other use is way down.
